McKenzie Engineering Services was engaged by Dyno to lead the installation of a bespoke industrial drying oven at Accumen Shapes in Penrose, Auckland. The project was delivered in two phases over four months. With no instruction manual for assembly, our team worked directly with the design engineer to sequence the build, set the oven square and level, and overcome the challenges of damaged parts and on-site repairs.
The install demanded careful planning and strong on-site leadership. At six metres high and in a live production environment, risks were mitigated through detailed lifting plans, experienced technicians, daily toolbox meetings, and the use of forklifts, scissor lifts, and rigging equipment. Close coordination with Accumen’s operations team ensured production continued while the project stayed on track.
The outcome was a smooth commissioning phase with no mechanical changes required and zero injuries. The client praised both the quality of workmanship and the perseverance shown to keep the project moving despite its challenges. This successful delivery laid the foundation for an ongoing relationship with Dyno and Accumen.
